"There's a terrace on the roof, but there's nothing up there," he says. "Have you ever looked? Let's just see," I reply. Cut to LITERALLY THE MOST BREATHTAKING VIEW IN ALL OF VERONA?! You can imagine the incredulous side eye I was giving him as we emerged from the stairwell and took this in. Turns out my best friend has sleeping on (or under, ha ha) a view that most hotel bars across the city will happily charge €12+ for an espresso and access. For six months, they've lived here. Six months. Anyway, in our haste to make it up there to catch the sunset, we also locked ourselves out of the apartment, an ordeal that ended with both of us considering new careers as locksmiths after this dude worked on the door for 3.5 minutes and charged us €120 🥲
