One of my favourite movies growing up was Stardust. A young man from a small English village journeys into a magical land to capture a fallen star, and if you look closely, you might recognise that little village in the photos below. A short but sweet stop in the perfectly preserved medieval village of Castle Combe concluded my week in the Cotswolds, made highly entertaining by the American woman who appointed herself as my crowd controller. She yelled at all of the oblivious tourists dawdling in the middle of the street to move out of the way, and then directed the rest to stay back and form a line behind where we were standing, allowing me to snap the postcard shot of the packhorse bridge and weavers’ cottages on Water Lane. Gotta love the shamelessly loud vocals of a passionate American.
